Handlogten scored on a rebound just over two minutes into the Gators-Tigers game. The 7-1 center grabbed the ball in his hands at the top of his jump and threw it to the side as it landed.

Handlogten's left ankle buckled as he attempted to secure the ball. He collapsed to the ground in obvious pain as the game continued around him.

Florida medical staff and other personnel present at the SEC championship game immediately began taking diaries on the field. Handlogten's mother came out of the stands to accompany him onto the field.
According to Kyle Tucker of The Athletic, a University of Florida official has officially announced that Handlogten suffered a broken tibia.

This injury will almost certainly spell the end of Handlogten's season. He finished his second season with averages of 5.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
The Gators basketball team posted well wishes for their big man on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after his injury.
