In an incident in Vittoria, Ragusa province last March, a 44-year-old man with a previous conviction allegedly tried to rob a gas station. Dressed in a helmet and scarf, he allegedly pointed a knife at the station attendant and threatened to enter the office where the day's earnings were kept. But the tables were turned when the attendant hit the suspect instead. In the middle of the attempted robbery, the suspect also caused serious injuries to his partner's middle finger and right thumb. The suspect was later arrested and locked up in Ragusa prison in recent days.

Despite his attempts to escape, the suspect was arrested in the following days and later imprisoned in Ragusa prison. This shocking episode is a dramatic reminder of the dangers facing frontline workers and the importance of acting quickly in the face of adversity.
