British Rider Mark Purslow Died after a Crash During Qualifying for the Isle of Man TT

The family of Welsh rider Mark Purslow, who died in a crash at the Isle of Man TT on Wednesday, say the 29-year-old rider is "loved by everyone".

Former Manx Grand Prix winner Purslow was making his second TT debut and had clocked his fastest ever lap of the mountain course at 120.857mph on Wednesday before his fatal crash at Ballagarey on his Yamaha Supersport bike.

A family statement on Thursday said the loved ones were "more than heartbroken" and "completely devastated."

"Mark was loved by everyone, no one had bad words about him," his family said.

"That's because he was a great person inside and out, always fooling around and lighting any situation with a big smile on his face, always ready for people.

The family statement went on to say that Mark "would ask all of us to stop crying, stop laughing and get him a drink."
